El luchador antiterrorista y Héroe de la República de Cuba Fernando González Llort llegó a la Patria al mediodía de hoy, tras cumplir íntegramente la larga e injusta condena a la que fuera sometido en los Estados Unidos.

Fernando fue recibido por sus familiares al llegar a suelo cubano. Posteriormente, fue recibido por el General de Ejército Raúl Castro Ruz, Primer Secretario del Comité Central del PCC y Presidente de los Consejos de Estado y de Ministros, otros miembros del Buró Político y del Consejo de Estado, y los familiares de los Cinco Héroes Cubanos.

Él salió ayer del centro correccional federal de Safford, en Arizona, y fue puesto a disposición de los servicios de inmigración para iniciar el proceso de deportación hacia Cuba.

Es el segundo de los conocidos internacionalmente como Los Cinco que cumple las penas impuestas, después de René González.

Fernando, René, Gerardo Hernández, Antonio Guerrero y Ramón Labañino fueron arrestados en 1998 cuando daban seguimiento a grupos que en territorio norteamericano planeaban y ejecutaban acciones terroristas contra Cuba.

Los tres últimos siguen prisioneros en penitenciarías de Estados Unidos, pese a una amplia campaña mundial que reclama su liberación.
