New York City Council Hearing on Res. 1092

The NYC Council Committee on Cultural Affairs, Libraries, and International Intergroup Relations held a hearing October 31, 2019 on Res. 1092 calling upon the President to lift the Cuban embargo and end the Cuban travel ban. The bill was introduced by Councilwoman Inez Barron and co-sponsored by Committee Chair Jimmy Ban Bramer and Councilman Ydanis Rodriguez.

Speaking in support of Res. 1092 above, Councilwoman Inez Barron (above) said New York City is the site of international affairs with the United Nations located in the city. "It is an important time to make a statement. We want to make sure the gains made by the Obama Administration toward normalizing relations with Cuba are maintained," she said.
